American Impressionist Landscape School of Arthur Wesley Dow
Early 20th century oil on board in the manner of Arthur Wesley Dow, the highly influential artist/teacher who taught hundreds of young painters at his summer school in Ipswich and at Pratt Institute in New York, including Georgia O’Keefe. This is perhaps a work of one of his students. The scene is the Ipswich Boatyard, a favorite location for Dow works. Unsigned. In period mission oak frame.
